The DF-26, based on the DF-21, is nicknamed the “Guam Killer” as its range of about 3,500-4,000 km is roughly the distance required for China to take out the US island territory and strategic naval base. Prior to the deployment of the DF-26, China’s only way to attack Guam would have been with H-6K strategic bombers, which would have been much less effective given the strong defensive capabilities of the US military on the base.
Today’s V-Day parade really surprised everyone with the announcement of DF-26 is also a “Carrier Killer”, a 4000 km range of killer.
