Since 2014 till now, there are four Type-055 DDGs are currently being built in China, two in Shanghai and two in Dalian, respectively. It is believed that the first one in Shanghai Changxing Shipyard is soon to be launched into the water in April. It is currently being installed with the upper structure.
055’s fully loaded displacement is well over 10,000 tons. And it has total 128 unit VLS, 64 at front and 64 at rare, respectively. 055’s VLS is capable of launching anti-air, anti-ship, anti-sub missiles. And it can also launch anti-land targets with long range cruise missiles. The missile storage could be from 128 to 1024.
