The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team is saddened to hear of the loss of Captain Yu Xu, of the Chinese August 1st Air Demonstration Team. The Red Arrows offer sincere and deepest sympathy.
Wing Commander Martin Higgins, Officer Commanding, Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, said: “It was our utmost privilege to meet Captain Yu Xu and her Bayi colleagues at Airshow China earlier this month. Although our respective teams are based thousands of miles apart, it was clear we share a common pursuit of excellence in all that we do and a desire to inspire the next generation. Captain Yu Xu epitomised those values and she has left an extraordinary legacy for others to follow. Our thoughts are with her family and colleagues.”
