China Flexing Muscle: H6-K Fleet Flew Over Yongshu Island

In a newly released internet photo, China’s long range strategic bombers H6-K were flying over the newly man made island, Yongshu Island. (Fiery Cross Reef, also known as “Northwest Investigator Reef”, Yongshu Island (永暑岛) or Yongshu Reef (永暑礁) by the Chinese.)

US “National Interest” reported that, H-6K is Beijing’s B-52,  with modern electronic equipment as well as precise and powerful weapons systems.

Compared with H-6, H-6K adopt more efficient D-30 turbofan engine. Without aerial refueling, it can fly 1900 miles with weapons loaded, no return.

Even more impressive was that, loading it in the case of 12 tons of heavy weapons by the two aerial refueling, H6-K can fly 3100 miles away from the base in place.

These weapons include six YJ-12 supersonic anti-ship missiles or CJ-20 cruise missiles, which are capable of hitting targets 250 miles and 1500 miles away.
