The Bangladesh Air Force will purchase FC-20/FC-20A from China

Bangladesh Air Force will purchase FC-20/FC-20A single-engine 4.5 generation multi-role combat aircraft from China to replace the existing fleet of F-7 series fighter aircraft starting with the F-7MB interceptors, which were inducted in 1989. The FC-20 is the export designation for the J-10B multi-role combat aircraft produced serially for the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF).

Representatives from Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation (CAC) and China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC) are due to visit Dhaka shortly to offer a competitive single engine multi-role combat aircraft solution to replace the ageing fleet of F-7 interceptors. BDMilitary.com learnt that China is not sparing any effort to push the deal through. If they succeed in their mission then Bangladesh might become the launch customer of the highly touted Chinese single engine multi-role combat aircraft.
